Exterior and interior paint need to look fresh and new. In this day and age, you also need to think about water conservation. Do some landscaping with drought resistant plants. Remember that curb appeal is important to potential renters.

In addition to making sure the property looks updated, you also need to make sure your systems are properly functioning 
and well maintained. Take a look at your heating system and your air conditioning unit. It’s important to have updated plumbing and electrical systems running through the house. Your windows are also a major place where you can make improvements. Single pane windows are not very effective or efficient. They produce condensation, so update to modern dual pane windows. These look modern and they are a lot more efficient.
